African American actress Lisa Bonet and actor Jason Mamoa shocked fans when they announced they “are parting ways in marriage. They announced their joint statement on Instagram yesterday.
‘We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring,’ their statement read. ‘And so we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage.’
Jason Mamoa, 42 and Lisa Bonet, 54, have been together since 2005 and wed four years ago. Jason played the lead role in The Aquaman and Kal Drago in Game of Thrones, while Lisa is known for her role in the family sitcom The Cosby Show and its spinoff series A Different World, which earned her a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
Lisa Bonet was previously married to singer and actor, Lenny Kravitz. They share daughter Zoë Kravitz, 33, and have all been a very close, extended family. Bonet and Momoa’s kids are Lola, 14 and son Nakoa-Wolf, 13.
Momoa was in love with Bonet before they ever met.
Both Lisa ans Jason are of mixed heritage. Lisa was born to Arlene Joyce Litman, a Jew and Allen Bonet, an African American, while Jason’s father of Hawaiian roots and his mother, German, Irish, and Native American descent.
