Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by volume, has announced a deal with the Africa Cup of Nations to become the official and exclusive cryptocurrency and blockchain sponsor for this year’s tournament, which is ongoing in Cameroon. The football event kicked off 9 January, to end 6 February 2022.

Founded in 2017 and registered in the Cayman Islands, Binance is the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, processing $76 billion worth of crypto per day. Its Total Energies African Cup of Nations (AFCON) sponsorship is another move in the company’s quest to strengthen its presence in Africa.

In 2018, the company launched a crypto trading platform in Uganda.

The sponsorship deal will make Binance the exclusive cryptocurrency and blockchain platform for the AFCON 2021 tournament as we take our global brand and technology to African football. Also, Binance will also be the official partner of the Assist of the Day / Binance Assist of the Week / Binance Assist of the Tournament, which will be promoted across CAF’s social media channels and across all six venues in five cities in Cameroon.

More than 160 nations will live broadcast the tournament with an audience of over 300 million.
