  9. Her passion for research and wiring about mass incarceration in the USA made her to start a creative writing program for girls in detention.

Valeria Luiselli is a member of the Inter-American Dialogue-a U.S.-based think tank whose aim is to “foster democratic governance, prosperity, and social equity in Latin America and the Caribbean”. The Dialogue’s research areas focus on the rule of law, education, migration, remittances, energy, climate change and extractive industries.
